About This Role

We are looking to hire a Class Teacher for Year 1, starting from January through July 2025, to cover maternity leave. The individual in this role will facilitate the educational, personal, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of our students, participate actively in the daily operations of the school community, and assist with various College activities and events.

ELIZABETH COLLEGE

Founded in 1563 by Queen Elizabeth I, Elizabeth College is a broadly selective day school. As one of the original members of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC), the College offers an engaging, comprehensive, and stimulating academic and extracurricular program for children aged 2½ to 18.

Elizabeth College Junior School is coeducational. The infant department at Acorn House provides pre-school and pre-prep education for children from 2½ to 7 years old (Key Stage 1). The Junior department at Beechwood caters to children aged 7 to 10 (Key Stage 2) and prepares both boys and girls for secondary education at age 11. ECJS Acorn House and ECJS Beechwood are situated half a mile from the Upper School on the same site.

Compensation

MPS/UPS depending on experience - subject to annual pay review in line with the States of Guernsey pay scales.
