To carry out the responsibilities of a teacher in alignment with the school's policies and procedures, providing high-quality instruction and assessment that improves learning outcomes, engagement, and achievement for all students.

Role and Responsibilities
•
Lesson Planning, Teaching and Learning
•
Creating exceptional lessons and assessments that adhere to the school’s Teaching and Learning and Assessment guidelines.
•
Maintaining high standards as outlined in the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy, while promoting positive practices regarding punctuality, behavior, uniform, academic expectations, and homework (home learning).
•
Ensuring that the scope and sequence, along with unit and lesson plans, are current, accurate, and meet the standards of the Ministry of Education, International Baccalaureate, and the school.
•
Assessment, Recording, Reporting
•
Assess the degree to which learning objectives have been achieved and use this information to refine specific teaching and learning areas.
•
Regularly evaluate and grade students' work, set progress targets, and participate in moderation as per the school’s Assessment (Marking & Feedback) policy.
•
Consistently assess and document students' progress, maintaining comprehensive records and utilizing performance data to inform planning, teaching, interventions, and student growth.
•
Prepare and present detailed reports to parents in accordance with the Report Writing Guidelines.
•
Professional Duties and Responsibilities
•
Take part in staff duty rotations and provide coverage for absent colleagues when required.
•
Engage in relevant training and professional development related to the position.
•
Support school events and initiatives, including the ECA program.
•
Encourage collaboration and offer support to all stakeholders.
•
Demonstrate professionalism consistently and uphold high professional standards.
•
Actively participate in the professional community at Dwight.
•
Perform any other reasonable duties and work hours assigned by the Head of School and Head of Arabic & Islamic.
Requirements:
•
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies or Arabic Language and Literature, with coursework in History, Geography, or Social Studies reflected on the graduation transcript.
•
Experience teaching Arabic and Social Studies.
