About This Role

MOE Position (Arabic B Teacher)

The Subject Teacher will design lessons that promote learning progression by establishing clear teaching objectives and detailing the methods to achieve them through:


Creating tasks that engage students and stimulate high levels of interest.


Setting explicit targets that build on previous progress and achievements.


Identifying students with SEN/EAL needs.


Structuring lessons effectively to maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.


Utilizing assessments effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of the curriculum.


Upholding high standards for both classwork and homework.


Employing a range of teaching strategies to align with the content, structure information, and present material clearly.


Implementing effective questioning techniques, actively listening to students, and addressing errors and misconceptions.


Choosing suitable learning resources and enhancing study skills through the library, ICT, and other tools.


Ensuring that students acquire and reinforce the knowledge, skills, and understanding pertinent to the subject matter.


Guaranteeing the efficient deployment of classroom support.


Encouraging students to reflect on their learning, develop self-control and independence, maintain concentration and perseverance, and listen attentively.


Participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of subject policies and assisting in documentation creation as needed.


Ensuring that students' work is marked, displayed, and presented to a high standard in the classroom and across the school, changing it regularly.


Consistently applying school rules to uphold discipline, dress code, and to ensure the well-being, happiness, and safety of all students and the wider community.


Collaborating with colleagues to maintain high standards of professional conduct both in and out of the classroom, acting in ways that are honest, justifiable, and in the best interests of students.


Maintaining a professional appearance that respects cultural sensitivities.


Supporting the School Improvement Plan related to the curriculum and the ongoing enhancement of student achievement.

Monitoring, Assessing, Recording and Reporting


Evaluating the effectiveness of personal teaching to uphold high standards and ensure student progress.


Critically assessing one’s own teaching for continuous improvement.


Engaging in peer observations of colleagues when necessary and allowing peers to observe.


Submitting books, records, or planning documentation as required for colleague or SMT monitoring.


Marking and tracking students' work and frequently setting progress targets.


Systematically assessing and recording students' progress and maintaining comprehensive records.


Verifying that work is understood and completed, monitoring each student's strengths and weaknesses.


Planning assessments based on the individual achievement levels of students.


Conducting assessments of students as requested according to departmental and school protocols.


Preparing and presenting detailed reports to parents.


Regularly evaluating students’ work through formal and informal assessments at the end of units as directed by SLT.


Maintaining communication with the school SENCO and Head of Department regarding any student whose progress or behavior raises concerns.


Keeping records accessible for sharing with colleagues or for review by members of the SLT, ISP, and ADEK Inspection team.


Assisting with the resource needs of the subjects taught, as requested by the Head of Key Stage/department.

Curriculum Development


Collaborating within a team to develop plans that establish clear targets and success criteria for the advancement and upkeep of the school’s curriculum.


Contributing to the planning activities of the entire school.

Directed Time


Ensuring presence at school during designated hours and attending all meetings/functions considered directed time, including two extracurricular activities and one planning session weekly.

Punctuality


Setting exemplary standards for punctuality and encouraging the same from students and colleagues.


Recording student attendance in the system and informing the PRE of any absences or tardiness.

Safety


Highlighting the significance of safety across all curriculum areas, instilling a responsible attitude toward personal safety, the safety of others, and respect for Reach British School’s property and equipment.


Carrying out playground duties punctually and diligently to ensure the safety of Reach students.

Communication With Parents


Regularly communicating with parents informally to address day-to-day queries.


Attending Parents’ Evenings as required and providing accurate, honest feedback on individual progress during these meetings.


Delivering written reports to parents twice a year or as required by SLT.

Staff Development, ECA & Cover


Actively participating in Staff Development sessions, staff meetings, and briefings as scheduled.


Providing coverage for absent colleagues whenever necessary.


Contributing to the extracurricular activity program to enhance the school experience for students as reasonably directed by the SLT and ECA Coordinator.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
