Situated in the Minhang District of Shanghai, the school boasts state-of-the-art facilities that support our innovative teaching approach.

Our staff represents ten different countries, with many colleagues hailing from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

The Role:

As a vital member of the Performing Arts department, you will enhance and expand the drama offerings for all students. In pursuit of a high-performing department, our Primary and Secondary School drama educators will collaborate, drawing inspiration from our partnership with Juilliard, to guide and motivate all students and secondary school members.

You will play a significant role in shaping the future academic direction of the subject and will be accountable for student outcomes, working closely with all members of the performing and expressive arts departments.

We will rely on you to uphold high expectations for our students, crafting learning activities aligned with our school’s Secondary curriculum and fostering a learning culture where achievements know no bounds. You will cultivate a respectful classroom environment, facilitating learning through inquiry and discussion. Your focus will include:

- Demonstrating comprehensive curriculum knowledge and exhibiting flexibility within the Performing Arts department to teach various aspects of the Drama curriculum from Grade 6 to Grade 12.

- Ensuring that planning, preparation, teaching, assessment, and reporting meet student needs and the school’s expectations.

- Promoting high expectations for our students by designing learning activities in alignment with our school’s Secondary curriculum and nurturing a culture of limitless achievement.

- Fostering a respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages learning through questioning and dialogue.

- Actively contributing to the broader development and growth of the school.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess:

- Qualified Teacher Status with at least three to four years of teaching experience in Secondary Drama.

- An understanding of effective teaching and learning theories, alongside practical experience in addressing the individual needs of all students through classroom organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.

- A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.

- A degree in Drama or Theatre Studies is preferred.

- A collaborative spirit and adaptability.

About You:

Enthusiastic about sharing your specialized knowledge, you will serve as a strong ambassador for the school. You will communicate effectively across diverse audiences and environments, using your expertise to build robust relationships with parents and students. Your adaptability to our dynamic international setting will be key, as will your ability to meet visa-related requirements for China, including holding a bachelor’s degree, passing a non-criminal background check, and having at least 24 months of teaching experience.
