About This Role
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or the capability to obtain certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- A Resource Teacher Certificate or a commitment to pursue this certification.
- Experience in creating Student Specific Plans and related documentation is a valuable asset.
- Proficiency in conducting thorough assessments to guide the development of student programming.
- Experience in assisting students with additional needs, alternative programming, and a comprehensive understanding of programming criteria will be viewed favorably.
- Familiarity with the Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming in Manitoba.
- A strong understanding of diverse abilities, including the recognition of strengths, challenges, and effective strategies for students with various diagnoses.
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate instructional programs that foster personal growth and improve overall quality of life.
- Knowledge of the K-12 Manitoba Curriculum along with experience in cross-curricular planning.
- Competence in collaborating effectively with teachers and educational assistants within a consultative approach.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, a strong commitment to professionalism, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Capacity for collaborative teamwork as part of an educational team.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- A commitment to culturally responsive education.
- Proven ability and experience in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Ability to develop programs with a northern perspective.
- Awareness and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of students from diverse abilities and backgrounds.
