Learning Resource Teacher
About This Role
Chief Sabitawasis School is seeking a committed LEARNING RESOURCE TEACHER. The successful applicant will need to have a Special Needs certification along with a valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate. The LRT's duties will encompass:
- Demonstrating knowledge of and working within the Response to Intervention (RTI) framework and the Continuum of Supports model, which includes Tier 1 - Classroom Instruction; Tier 2 - Classroom Supports; and Tier 3 - School Team Supports.
- Understanding and implementing best practices related to inclusion, differentiation, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Being familiar with co-teaching methodologies and effectively applying these models in classroom environments.
- Having knowledge of the Collaborative Response Model and promoting collaboration within the school and with external agencies.
- Utilizing technology resources such as MSS/Aspen (IIPs) and Clevr proficiently.
- Exemplifying inclusive practices and strategies throughout the school.
- Engaging in effective communication with the principal, school team members, families, and external agencies.
- Conducting specialized academic assessments, including the Woodcock-Johnson IV.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and other school staff, including the principal, family members, and outside agencies, to evaluate and report on IIP goals (e.g., progress reports).
- Completing and submitting referrals through CLEVR for services such as SLP, OT, educational psychology, transportation, assistive technology, and counseling.
- Maintaining confidentiality by protecting student and staff information and sharing only what is necessary and appropriate with relevant personnel.
