English Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled English teacher to join our team as soon as possible. We would particularly welcome applications from teachers with mainstream secondary experience who are keen to make a difference in alternative provision.

We are looking for a skilled, creative and caring secondary English teacher who believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential. You will be committed to building trusting relationships, making learning accessible and engaging, and helping young people rediscover their confidence and enjoyment in education.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified teacher with strong English subject knowledge and experience teaching secondary-age pupils.
• Can plan creative, well-sequenced lessons that engage learners and build literacy skills.
• Has high expectations while responding sensitively to pupils’ needs and experiences.
• Can assess learning accurately and adapt teaching for pupils with SEND and gaps in prior learning.
• Builds positive, consistent relationships with young people and colleagues.
• Ideally has experience teaching English in a mainstream secondary school; experience in alternative provision is welcome but not essential.
