ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s School The Crown is located on expansive grounds that feature outstanding educational and athletic facilities, providing students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of interests. Our custom-built campus, covering over 40,000m2, is situated in the heart of Cairo’s most prestigious gated community, The Crown, in 6th October City. The school caters to students aged 18 months to 18 years and is equipped with premier facilities, including a full-sized football pitch, a 400m athletics track, an 8-lane, 25m covered swimming pool with a learner pool, an indoor multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor multi-purpose courts, and a 522-seat Performing Arts theatre.
We are seeking an exceptional, dedicated, and passionate Director of Sport to join the team at King’s School The Crown, with an anticipated start date in August 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Spearhead teaching and learning initiatives within the Physical Education and Sports disciplines.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of physical education and sports instruction, monitoring student progress toward set goals throughout the school.
• Advance the mission and objectives of the PE and Sports program in alignment with the school’s vision and departmental development strategy.
• Collaborate with the founding Executive Head to plan and coordinate the school’s sports events and competitions in accordance with the established events calendar.
• Take charge of developing, implementing, and reviewing all relevant policies, contributing to the creation of necessary curriculum and reporting documentation as required by school leadership.
• Oversee the enhancement of the sports program, ensuring a broad range of sports is available and accessible to all students.
• Efficiently manage resources within indoor and outdoor sports facilities and all athletic areas.
• Maintain high professional standards in teaching your area of expertise at all times.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Proven experience in a similar position.
• Proficiency in utilizing ICT for educational purposes.
• Academic-level fluency in English.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 to 3 students within the UK curriculum framework.
• A solid understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects necessary to address students’ learning needs.
• Experience delivering the UK Primary & Secondary curriculum and framework.
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and insight into PE and Sports instruction.
• Capability to teach GCSE and/or O level is an advantage.
