Muscat International School by Amity is in search of exceptional and motivated educators for the position of Assistant Head (Academics) in the Senior School.

The Role
In the capacity of Assistant Head (Academics), you will provide both strategic and operational leadership to uphold academic standards across the Senior School. Your efforts will ensure that teaching methods, systems, and results are in line with the school's commitment to excellence. Working closely with the Head of Senior School, the successful candidate will lead the development of efficient systems for monitoring progress, analyzing data, and establishing targets, thereby fostering an environment where every student is motivated and equipped to excel.
This role is ideal for a leader who values precision, clarity, and academic rigor, and who is committed to ensuring that outstanding results arise from careful planning, expert instruction, and thorough evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading the design and implementation of exceptional assessment, tracking, and reporting systems
•
Cultivating a culture of high expectations and evidence-based teaching strategies throughout the Senior School
•
Advising colleagues on best teaching practices to consistently achieve strong results
•
Overseeing key academic departments, providing both support and constructive challenge to middle leaders with clear intent
•
Contributing to the development of the curriculum, ensuring coherence, ambition, and progression
•
Assisting in the creation of the school timetable (experience preferred)

•
Maintain a student-centered approach while upholding academic integrity
•
Show excellent organizational and strategic planning capabilities
•
Preferably hold qualifications to teach Mathematics or Science (desirable, but not essential)
•
Possess middle leadership experience, with senior leadership experience being a considerable advantage
•
Exhibit potential for future senior leadership roles, including Head of Senior School
Having a Master’s degree and leadership qualifications such as NPQSL or NPQH is advantageous.
