The Arts, Applied Design, Skills & Technologies Department at Crofton House School is renowned for its exceptional educators who employ a collaborative, inquiry-based, and student-focused teaching philosophy. Responsibilities:


Implement a student-centered, inquiry-driven, and collaborative approach to the B.C. curriculum.


Facilitate the growth and development of individual learners through the Crofton House School Ivy Compass and Advisory program.


Collaborate with Senior School teachers to design, develop, and deliver exceptional learning experiences for each student.


Build relationships with fellow teachers and staff throughout the school community.


Actively participate and contribute positively to the co-curricular program.


Engage fully in the CHS Teacher Professional Growth Plan.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:


Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria.


Relevant university qualifications, preferably at the graduate level (e.g., Bachelor of Education plus Bachelor of Visual Arts, or equivalent).


Thorough understanding of contemporary educational practices as outlined in BC Ministry of Education documents.


Familiarity with 'Standards-Based Learning/Assessment' is an asset.


Knowledge of Visual Arts education, including the "Studio Habits of Mind."


Experience in an independent school setting is preferred.


Demonstrated awareness of the learning preferences of girls and young women.


Collaborative and enthusiastic, with a passion for teaching.


Dedicated to the craft of teaching, best practices, and professional standards.


Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Commitment to ongoing professional development and personal growth.


Energetic, dedicated, and eager to engage in the co-curricular program.

Employment and Application Details:

Classes commence in September 2026, following teacher orientation in late August 2026.

Annual Salary: $69,541 - $123,242.
