RAK Academy - Al Hamra
Situated in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an expanding primary and lower secondary institution that provides an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, alongside UAE MOE subjects. Our newly established secondary school, serving Grades 6 to 8, will welcome its first cohort in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), ensuring our standards align with those of leading international British schools, and we are equipped to fully deliver the ECT induction for teachers.
The Role
RAK Academy, Khuzam School is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and inspirational Librarian to join our team. This role is crucial in developing and managing a vibrant, bilingual (Arabic and English) learning space that enhances student inquiry, literacy, and research capabilities.
Essential
•
A Bachelor’s degree in library science or library services.
•
Experience in managing and operating school libraries.
•
A strong passion for reading, literacy, research, and a love for both traditional and e-books.
•
Ability to implement modern library strategies that support curriculum goals.
•
Proficiency in utilizing technology to aid teaching and learning.
•
Confidence in managing library software systems.
•
Skill in engaging, motivating, and supporting children, staff, and parents.
•
Reflective practice with creative thinking and innovation capabilities.
•
A positive and enthusiastic disposition when working with children.
•
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school leadership.
•
Willingness to participate actively in extracurricular activities.
•
A steadfast commitment to the principle that all decision-making will prioritize the best interests of our learners.
Desirable
•
A strong and proven history of leading library services in a bilingual environment.
•
Knowledge and experience with the International Baccalaureate program.
•
Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England.
•
Demonstrated ability to implement positive changes within an educational setting.
•
Experience working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is highly desirable.
