Job Description
Location: Him Lam International School – Him Lam Green Park, Bac Ninh, Vietnam.
•
Responsibilities
•
Develop and compose Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students receiving Student Support Services.
•
Create tailored Curriculum Plans for students with modified academic requirements.
•
Provide small group instruction and one-on-one support for SSS students.
•
Facilitate IEP and Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC).
•
Draft Behavior Management Plans for students exhibiting behavioral challenges.
•
Offer classroom support for homeroom teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations as per IEPs.
•
Carry out assessments, observations, and progress tracking for students under SSS.
•
Conduct orientation sessions for teachers to enhance their understanding of students with special educational needs and support the development of skills such as fine motor skills, executive functions, behavior management, and daily living skills.
•
Establish an inclusive learning atmosphere for all students, including those with ADHD and ASD.
•
Host parents' conferences to build strong relationships that benefit students.
•
Develop daily routines to promote discipline among students.
•
Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Pedagogy, or a related field.
Teaching or Education certifications.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, including at least 1 year in Special Education.
Skills & Knowledge
A strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Capacity to foster trust-based relationships with students and their families.
Proficient in behavior management techniques, skilled in handling confrontations and challenging behaviors.
Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, teaching assistants, and professionals such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and social workers.
Exhibit flexibility, patience, understanding, and empathy towards students and parents.
