GEMS International School, Al Khail is currently seeking applications from experienced Primary (PYP) Teachers, with positions available for August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning.
• Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that recognizes and nurtures individual strengths and learning preferences.
• Tailor teaching methods to address the diverse needs of all students, including those who are EAL, gifted, and those needing extra support.
• Incorporate technology and innovative strategies to enrich student learning and participation.
• Effectively assess, document, and communicate student progress, using data to guide teaching and personalized support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create and enhance IB-aligned curriculum plans, resources, and assessments.
• Participate in the broader life of the school through co-curricular activities, events, and community initiatives.
• Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student development and well-being.
• Engage in continuous professional learning and self-reflection to improve teaching practice.
• Embrace and uphold the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile throughout all aspects of school life.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A recognized professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent.
• At least 3 years of proven experience teaching Primary (PYP), preferably in an IB Curriculum School (though this is not essential).
• Experience teaching IB PYP is preferred but not mandatory.
• A strong desire to inspire young learners through innovative and inquiry-driven teaching.
• The vision, enthusiasm, commitment, and educational philosophy necessary to contribute to the ongoing success of a leading GEMS school with an international student body.
• A commitment to professional growth and collaboration within a forward-thinking educational community.
