In this Arts teaching position, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to develop both music and visual arts skills. Role Statement

The Arts Co-ordinator for Primary reports to the Head of Primary and the Head of Performing Arts (P-12) and works collaboratively with the primary teaching team to ensure that The Arts pedagogy, co-curricular and extra-curricular program and initiatives across the primary curriculum are of a high standard, creative, vibrant and well organised.

 

Teaching and Pedagogical Leadership Duties

This role is a Positions of Leadership (POL) and will include full-time teaching and pedagogical leadership duties. This will be determined by the Head of Primary and Head of Performing Arts annually. This position will also receive a time allowance and a monthly monetary allowance of HK$5,047 (Monetary Allowance Scale Level 3, Step 2).

Core professional and technical competencies:

·                Qualified practising teacher with qualifications and/or experience to lead and teach The Arts; including Visual Art, Music, Dance and Drama education.

·                Highly developed skills in the Universal Design for Learning making provisions for students from diverse backgrounds, and proven experience in teaching, planning and delivering programs which are inclusive of students with additional needs (e.g., learning support, exceptionally talented and EAL learners).

·                Demonstrated ability to model excellent classroom practice and innovative and contemporary pedagogy aligned with current research.

·                Knowledge of Australian curriculum (ACARA) and its appropriate integration across the year levels.

·                A passionate, knowledgeable and proactive teacher with a commitment to wellbeing practices and positive psychology in education (i.e., PROSPER).

·                Outstanding interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teachers, leadership team, parents and the community.

·                Proven ability to work effectively with teachers in a leadership capacity such as coaching, mentoring or instructional leadership to enhance learning outcomes for students.

·                Demonstrated experience which fosters positive relationships with other teachers, including secondary colleagues.

·                Highly effective communication skills with a wide range of groups and individuals – including colleagues, parents, students and members of the wider community.

·                Highly developed ICT skills and an ability to use technology as an integral part of teaching and learning.

·                Enthusiastic, positive and energetic attitude.

·                Demonstrate a commitment to consistent professional development.

·                Willingness to make a positive contribution to the culture and ethos of the school.

·                Vision for the development of The Arts program within the curriculum, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.

 

Responsibilities

The Arts Co-ordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, a range of the following activities:

·     Demonstrate strong and innovative leadership qualities to develop The Arts pedagogy in Primary lifting the profile of this area in the primary curriculum and the range of learning opportunities for students.

·     Collaborate (where appropriate) with Head of Performing Arts to develop the vision for The Arts, in Primary and broaden opportunities to include experiences such as Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance within the curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

·     Demonstrate experience to lead, develop and co-ordinate The Arts program in Primary including cross curricular and extra-curricular provision.

·     Collaborate and lead the development of professional practice in staff in The Arts team.

·     Collaborate with other co-ordinators and teachers to integrate The Arts with other subject areas.

·     Align The Arts with ACARA including cross-curricular priorities and general capabilities.

·     Provide exciting opportunities for the school community to engage with The Arts learning through regular performances, that include Visual Art, Music, Dance and Drama.

·     Provide opportunities and communicates The Arts program to the wider community including showcasing learning through Dhanara, social media, See Saw or other online platforms which promote academic excellence.

·     Use effective communication skills to articulate the importance of an arts education and advocate for its development, enhancement and integration into the curriculum.

·     Membership of the primary leadership team and attendance at meetings, when required.

·     Any other duties as may be required by the Head of School.

 

 

 

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
