We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of Art and Design to join us in the next academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a creative and forward-thinking department within our Senior School. The role requires confidence in teaching Art to at least iGCSE level, alongside enthusiasm for teaching Art and Design in Key Stage 3.

 

You will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that develop creativity, technical skill, critical thinking, and a strong appreciation of visual culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver well-planned and inspiring Art and Design lessons aligned with Key Stage 3 and iGCSE specifications, and whole-school academic expectations.

  • Foster creativity, experimentation, visual literacy, and technical skill through high-quality teaching and learning.

  • Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments, including coursework requirements at iGCSE level.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress with accuracy and consistency, maintaining high academic standards.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices.

  • Support and collaborate with colleagues within the Art and Design Department and the wider faculty, promoting strong pedagogy and continual professional growth.

  • Ensure inclusive teaching strategies that support students of all abilities, including those with diverse learning needs.

  • Enhance the creative co-curricular programme through clubs, exhibitions, competitions, workshops, and enrichment opportunities.

  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students and promote wellbeing, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation of the arts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Art, Art and Design, or a closely related creative discipline.

  • Experience teaching Art and Design at Key Stage 3 and iGCSE level.

  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of media, processes, and artistic practices.

  • A passion for inspiring creativity and supporting students in developing their own artistic voice.

  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and classroom-management skills.

  • A reflective, innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Experience in an international school environment or with international curricula (highly desirable).

Compensation

€35,000 - €50,000 (Pre-Tax)
