Your Role as a Secondary Art Teacher

At Newton, teaching Art means more than technique, it’s about helping students develop their creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation of culture and self-expression.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons based on the British curriculum
  • Foster creativity and innovation through practical and theoretical work
  • Support students in developing technical skills and personal artistic style
  • Promote critical thinking and reflection through art history and contemporary practice
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
  • Support student wellbeing through strong pastoral care and positive relationships

What We’re Looking For

We seek educators who are:

  • Experienced in teaching Art within the British curriculum for a minimum of 5 years
  • Qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Holders of a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Passionate about student-centred, inclusive education
  • Strong communicators with excellent classroom management
  • Committed to continuous professional development and growth

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
