About This Role
We are seeking a passionate, relational new entrant teacher to join our team in a fixed-term position covering one year of maternity leave. This role will begin in Term 3, 2026 and continue through to the end of Term 2, 2027.
Our new entrant classroom operates within a play-based pedagogy, supported by purposeful, bite-sized explicit teaching. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice who is passionate about working in this way.
The successful applicant will build strong, positive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues, and be an excellent communicator. They will work closely within our junior team and take responsibility for the transition-to-school process, including visiting children in their ECE settings and liaising with ECE staff to ensure a smooth and supportive start to school.
This is a highly valued role within our school, and we are committed to ensuring our youngest learners continue to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This position may particularly suit someone with an early childhood education background who is looking to move into a primary setting. You will be well supported by a collaborative and experienced team dedicated to high-quality teaching and learning.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
