ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College, The British School of Alicante, one of Spain's leading British schools, is seeking a passionate and committed Middle School Science Teacher to join our team starting in late August 2026. This role involves teaching General Science to students with diverse abilities in the Middle School, within a supportive, innovative, and high-achieving environment. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, scientific reasoning, and a love for learning in students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and deliver captivating, high-quality General Science lessons for Middle School students (typically at the KS3 level).
• Adjust instruction to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners, ensuring that all students make substantial progress.
• Evaluate, monitor, and report on student progress in alignment with school and British curriculum standards.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry.
• Contribute to the development of the science curriculum and collaborate with colleagues in departmental planning.
• Actively participate in school life, including extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral support.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• A relevant degree in Science or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Science at the KS2/KS3 or Middle School level, ideally within a British curriculum framework.
• A strong passion for STEM education and the ability to inspire students across a range of abilities.
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
