Our Vision:

·         To ensure everyone is respected, valued and supported to achieve the very best that they can.

Our Vision Statement:

"We nurture independent learners who are prepared for adult life."

Following our continued growth and recent expansion, Minerva May School is delighted to be recruiting for several new roles, creating exciting opportunities for passionate educators to make a meaningful difference. Our mission is to deliver a bespoke blend of academic and pastoral education that empowers some of the most vulnerable young people in our communities to thrive. This is a unique chance to join us at a pivotal stage in our journey, as we invest in our people, strengthen collaboration, and build a supportive, forward-thinking environment where both students and staff are valued, inspired, and able to reach their full potential.

Minerva May School is a brand-new specialist provision for children and young people aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ASC and associated challenges. With state-of-the-art specialist facilities and a mission to provide a nurturing and aspirational environment, we are proud to support students in developing the skills, confidence and resilience they need to succeed in learning and life.

We are now looking to appoint an additional innovative, trauma-informed, and experienced Maths Teacher to join our team and play a key role in nurturing independent learners who are prepared for adult life.

Key Responsibilities

As a SEMH Maths Teacher at Minerva May School, you will be responsible for teaching students with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other associated needs. This teaching will occur within a small group setting.

All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) crafted based on the outcomes and aims outlined in their EHCPs. These plans identify strategies and interventions tailored to support their specific needs. The primary objective of this role is to provide high quality Art education (and excellent pastoral support for a tutor group) to establish a secure foundation for achieving high standards across the school. At Minerva May School, you will:

·         Undertake the teaching of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), covering a range of SEN needs and ages, particularly focusing on learners with SEMH needs and other related needs.

·         Ensure high-quality teaching and learning for all students.

·         Be accountable for the attainment and progress of all students.

·         Support students in making progress across the curriculum, differentiating as needed.

·         Produce student SEN passports, monitor social communication development, and contribute to provision mapping, annual reviews, and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students.

·         Support staff training to meet the needs of the students.

·         Guide the work of Learning and Pastoral Support (LPS) and Higher-Level Learning and Pastoral Support (HLPS) who work with students who have EHCPs.

·         Provide pastoral support and guidance for all students.

·         Contribute to the overall development of the teaching and learning area across the school.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an innovative, trauma-informed, and nurturing Maths Teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, and associated challenges. The ideal candidate will be:

·         Passionate about Maths, with a clear understanding of how these subjects empower students to thrive as independent, informed, and responsible members of society.

·         Experienced and confident in planning and delivering high-quality, adaptive lessons that are accessible, engaging, and inclusive.

·         Skilled in trauma-informed practice, with the ability to build trusting relationships and promote emotional literacy, self-regulation, and resilience.

·         Committed to the values of Collaboration, Aspiration, Resilience and Empowerment, aligning with the ethos of Minerva May School.

·         Collaborative and reflective, able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.

·         Adaptable and proactive, with a growth mindset and a willingness to contribute to wider school life.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people and believe in the power of education to transform futures, we would love to hear from you.

What We Offer

At Minerva May School, we are proud to provide a working environment that is purposeful, nurturing, and ambitious—for both our students and our staff. As part of our team, you can expect:

·         A brand-new, state-of-the-art specialist school designed to support students with SEMH, ASC, ADHD and associated needs.

·         A supportive and forward-thinking staff team, where collaboration and professional growth are genuinely valued.

·         A strong culture of wellbeing, with a commitment to trauma-informed and restorative approaches embedded in daily practice.

·         High-quality training and professional development, including opportunities to deepen your expertise in Art and SEND/SEMH practice.

·         The chance to make a real impact, helping to nurture independent learners who are prepared for adult life.

·         An inclusive, aspirational ethos shaped by our core values: Collaboration, Aspiration, Resilience and Empowerment.

·         Opportunities to contribute to whole-school development, shaping curriculum and pastoral approaches in a growing, specialist setting.

If you are looking for a meaningful role in a school that genuinely puts students’ development and wellbeing at the heart of everything, Minerva May School could be the right place for you.
