Job Title: Head of Computing
Location: Bankside School, Worcester, WR8 0AD
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am – 4.00pm
Salary: Up to £47,000.00 per annum (based on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

We are in search of an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Computing who is passionate about enhancing achievement through tailored and engaging learning opportunities. This position is perfect for an innovative leader capable of fostering high standards, re-engaging students, and delivering an outstanding Computing curriculum within a supportive and fulfilling setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and ongoing assessment of the Computing curriculum to ensure compliance with national standards, promote digital literacy and online safety, and accommodate personalized learning needs.
- Implement a well-rounded, inclusive learning program that fosters participation, achievement, and progression for every student.
- Develop, mentor, and organize teaching and support staff to ensure high-quality instruction and strong professional standards throughout the department.
- Promote continuous improvement through clear objectives, annual planning, and thorough self-evaluation based on internal and external benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the Head of Quality of Education to execute strategic and operational plans aimed at enhancing standards and outcomes within Computing.
- Ensure that the Computing timetable, curriculum, and intervention programs are designed to help all students succeed and progress.
- Maintain high expectations for learning, behavior, professional development, and contributions to the school's ethos.
- Partner with the SENCo to establish effective systems for tracking, recording, and monitoring student progress, aiding organizational planning, and fulfilling inspection criteria.

About You
- UK QTS or equivalent
- Capable of planning, organizing, and delivering learning experiences that meet accreditation standards in Computing.
- Skilled in engaging and motivating learners through innovative techniques and activities that inspire achievement.
- Able to provide differentiated resources that cater to the diverse abilities of students in the classroom.

Bankside School is an exciting new initiative located near Hanley Castle, Worcester, serving students aged 11-18 with Autism, complex needs, and learning disabilities.
