About King’s College Riyadh:
King’s College Riyadh is the first UK private school brand to establish a branch in Saudi Arabia, in genuine partnership with King’s College UK, which has been educating pupils in the UK and abroad for over 140 years.

Since opening in 2021, King’s has grown rapidly, expanding to Year 7 in August 2025, with plans to extend through to Year 13 (age 18), enabling pupils to complete their full King’s education in Riyadh. Unlike most international schools in the city, King’s is fully co-educational from Pre-School through Year 7.

Role Overview

Our Class Teachers play a central role in delivering the majority of the curriculum to their assigned class. At full capacity, each year group operates as a collaborative, close-knit team, ensuring that all pupils receive consistently high-quality teaching and that every teacher feels supported within a strong and well-resourced department.

The successful candidate will work alongside subject-specialist teachers who enhance the curriculum while contributing to planning and syllabus development. Each class also benefits from the support of a dedicated Teaching Assistant.

Teaching and Learning

  • Deliver a broad, balanced and engaging EYFS curriculum in line with school schemes of work.

  • Plan long-, medium- and short-term learning sequences that support excellent pupil progress.

  • Create stimulating, well-resourced and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, using the school’s rewards and sanctions appropriately.

  • Provide regular written and verbal feedback to pupils and support them in acting on it.

  • Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress effectively, using data to inform planning.

  • Liaise closely with parents through meetings, written communication and reports.

  • Support SEN and EAL pupils in line with school policies.

  • Participate fully in the school’s co-curricular and activity programme.

Pastoral Care

  • Supervise pupils during break and lunchtimes in line with duty rotas.

  • Support pupils’ physical, emotional and social development.

  • Promote courtesy, good manners and high standards of hygiene.

  • Build positive relationships between pupils and adults.

  • Monitor and support pupil attendance, punctuality and safeguarding needs.

Management & Professional Duties

  • Follow and implement all school policies and procedures.

  • Create a purposeful, safe and well-organised learning environment with high-quality displays.

  • Work effectively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues across the school.

  • Foster strong home–school partnerships and maintain professional communication with parents.

  • Attend staff briefings, meetings, CPD sessions and school events as required.

  • Accompany pupils on educational visits and support school activities beyond the standard school day.

  • Cover lessons when required.

  • Maintain high standards of dress and conduct in line with local cultural expectations.

Safeguarding

  • Uphold all school safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Prioritise pupil safety and wellbeing at all times.

  • Engage fully in safeguarding training and report concerns promptly.

The successful candidate will have

  • Bachelor’s Degree /PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification /Qualified Teacher Status. (Essential)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant teaching experience (Essential).

  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum or EYFS (Essential).

  • A proven ability to inspire, motivate, and engage pupils of all abilities (Essential).

  • Strong classroom management and pastoral skills (Essential).

  • Experience working with EAL learners (Desirable).

  • An understanding of the expectations of UK independent and international schools (Desirable).
