Position Overview:
- You will be part of a dedicated team of linguists teaching one of the following languages: Spanish, French, Japanese or Chinese. Your timetable will primarily focus on your language of specialisation, covering the full age and ability range, including IB Standard and Higher Level courses.
- Deliver effective lessons in the Middle Years Programme, ab initio course in the IB Diploma Programme, and/or International GCSEs in the abovementioned languages.
- Utilise data on student learning outcomes to shape and enhance teaching strategies and curriculum design.
- Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider community to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Actively participate in professional learning teams within the Languages faculty, contributing positively to collective goals and initiatives.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
- An understanding of the MYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
- Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
