Position Overview:
- Passionate about teaching and deepening students' understanding of the role of information technology in the academic experience.
- Thorough knowledge of basic and advanced concepts of information technology.
- Plan, develop, and compile a comprehensive information technology curriculum and ensuring quality instruction.
- Utilise various technological pedagogical tools interactively and meaningfully to meet the needs of the 21st-century classroom with creative classroom management.
- Implement and deliver quality instruction, executing the instructional programme by promoting higher-order thinking activities in a progressive manner.
- Introduce basic concepts of information technology to primary students while familiarising upper-level students with more complex programming and skills.
- Stay updated on current technology to impart the latest knowledge to students based on their levels.
- Assess students' learning capabilities through effective interaction.
- Perform essential day-to-day functions, including preparing lesson plans, coursework, projects, and student evaluations.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about individual student progress and growth.
- Instruct students in the proper use, care, and safe handling of equipment.
General Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
- An understanding of the MYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
- Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
