Position Overview:
- The primary role of the classroom teacher is to maximise student learning and development through the planning, preparation, and teaching of programs tailored to meet individual learning needs and achieve specific student outcomes.
- Teachers are responsible for delivering lessons across a range of student abilities and classes, ensuring effective differentiation to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Engage in ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to enhance learning outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, cooperation, and respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a cohesive learning experience that addresses the holistic development of each child.
- Engage in critical reflection and professional development to continuously improve knowledge and skills, enhancing student engagement and learning.
- Implement innovative teaching methods and resources, integrating technology to support learning and foster creativity.
- Promote social, emotional, and physical development through the integration of relevant life skills and values into the curriculum.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
- An understanding of the PYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
- Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
