Position Overview:
- The primary role of the kindergarten teacher is to foster early childhood development and learning through engaging, play-based programs that cater to the individual needs of young learners.
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
- Create a safe and inclusive space where children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to express themselves and explore their interests.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including hands-on activities, storytelling, and interactive play, to engage children and support diverse learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress through observation and documentation, providing constructive feedback to guide individual learning paths.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support each child's development, maintaining open communication about progress and milestones.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practices to enhance teaching skills and stay current with early childhood education trends.
- Foster a love of learning by incorporating songs, games, and creative activities that inspire curiosity and imagination.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (Early Childhood Education) or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent, which qualifies them to teach 3-5 years of age.
- Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
- Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
