The successful applicant will have curriculum expertise and strong pedagogical practice to achieve outstanding learning outcomes for our students within an authentic Christian environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide general drama instruction for high school students
Organise theatre trips and workshops to enhance students' exposure to drama
Collaborate with other teachers in organizing drama shows
Prepare students for public performances as specified by the School
Design the drama curriculum according to the School's program
This role may include teaching of other subjects; therefore, it is preferred that the applicant has a second teachable area
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Senior Leaders
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree in relevant major subject(s), preferably in Drama / Performing Arts, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent teaching credential with at least 10 weeks’ practicum required
Teacher education/ training accepted by Alberta Education
Prior experience in teaching middle years or high school Drama preferred
High level of English proficiency in spoken and written English required
Whilst not essential, please state any IB or AP teaching experience
Candidate embracing the values of Christian education preferred
Effective Date of Employment
The starting date for this appointment is mid-August 2026. Initial contract is normally 2 years in duration. Renewable 2-year contracts are offered subject to mutual agreement.
