About This Role
Have you got the passion to make a difference to children with SEMH/ASD needs but want flexibility around your schedule? Our SEMH provision at Theale meets the individual needs of 39 students between 11 and 16 in a truly therapeutic setting and are looking to recruit enthusiastic, creative and hardworking people to join our team of Bank Classroom Support Assistants.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone confident, patient, and resilient who enjoys helping children develop both emotionally and academically. The school has a caring ethos and values staff who can bring positivity, structure, and consistency to the classroom.
As a Support Assistant you will:
• Support pupils with a range of SEMH / ASD needs to achieve their full potential
• Work closely with the class teacher/HLTA to implement behaviour strategies and support learning
• Deliver targeted learning breaks and interventions to help pupils self-regulate
• Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Each day will bring something new. From classroom learning to outdoor adventures, you'll help pupils discover what they're capable of in a supportive, therapeutic environment. You will work across the whole school and in a variety of classrooms so will need to be flexible and adaptable.
For further information and an application pack please contact Cassy Clark via email on hr@castle.w-berks.sch.uk or visit the school website at https://www.thecastleschoolnewbury.org/
Closing date: periodically throughout the year
Interviews: By arrangement
