About This Role

As a result of the ongoing success of GEMS Wesgreen International School in Sharjah, we are excited to announce openings for Primary Teachers to begin in August 2026.

This is an exceptional chance for Early Career Teachers (ECT) to gain invaluable international experience, or for seasoned educators to advance their careers with a leading global organization at a premier International School.

We are proud to be accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO) and have received Outstanding ratings across all standards, which enables us to offer the NQT, QTS, and iPGCE programs to our educators through the TES Institute.

At GEMS, teaching transcends mere employment; it is a fulfilling career path. Our educators benefit from complimentary access to top-tier Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs and have the chance to grow within our global framework. In line with our dedication to teacher development, Graduate teachers will gain from our BSO accreditation and enrollment in our NQT program, while more experienced educators will find unique opportunities to pursue career advancement. GEMS teachers are positioned at the forefront of professional growth, with many of our leadership roles filled by individuals from within the GEMS network.

Ideal candidates should:

• Hold a BEd or a Bachelor's degree in Primary Teaching along with a PGCE/PGDE or an equivalent qualification.

• Demonstrate the ability to impart exemplary teaching methods.

• Exhibit a creative and enthusiastic attitude both in and out of the classroom.

• Have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.

• Possess a proven history of delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences.

• Aspire to contribute to a world-class educational environment with tangible career advancement opportunities.

• Be eager to positively impact our school community and culture through active participation in our extracurricular activities and community events.

All roles come with an attractive benefits package, including:
A four-day work week, competitive tax-free salary, individual fully furnished accommodation, free schooling, private medical insurance, annual flights to your home country, and end of service gratuity.

GEMS teachers also enjoy complimentary access to our loyalty app, GEMS Rewards, which offers substantial savings on daily living expenses in the UAE. The app provides thousands of discounts and 2-for-1 deals on various services, including flights, hotels, dining, and retail, allowing your earnings to stretch further while you work abroad.

GEMS Education is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and staff. A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is required for all appointments.
