O Castro British School is seeking to hire a passionate and qualified English Teacher to become part of our dedicated team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate English lessons aligned with the British curriculum, ensuring comprehensive coverage of reading, writing, speaking and listening, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.

• Instruct secondary students, aiding them in developing strong literacy skills, confidence in communication, and an appreciation for reading.

• Regularly evaluate, monitor, and document student progress in English, providing constructive feedback and communicating with parents and school leadership.

• Participate in English curriculum development, create high-quality teaching resources, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of literacy programs throughout the Primary school.

• Assist with enrichment initiatives such as reading clubs, storytelling events, school plays, book fairs, and themed literacy days.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere that encourages positive behavior, well-being, and active participation in English.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.

• C1/C2 proficiency in English.

• A degree in Education, English, or a related field.

• Experience in teaching English within a primary school environment.

• A solid understanding of the British Primary curriculum and effective literacy teaching strategies.
