RAK Academy Al Hamra:

Situated in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an expanding primary and lower secondary institution that implements an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, in addition to the UAE MOE subjects. Our new secondary school for Grades 6 to 8 will welcome its first students in August 2026. We hold accreditation from the British Schools Overseas (BSO) and meet the standards of leading international British institutions, enabling us to fully provide the ECT induction for educators.

The Role (Founding Position):

RAK Academy – Al Hamra is in search of a motivated, inspiring, and positive founding Head of Arabic to spearhead the development of our new secondary Arabic department. This unique role presents an exciting opportunity to influence curriculum design, cultural ethos, assessment frameworks, and educational standards in a school set to open in August 2026.

Essential Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Arabic or a related field.

• A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent).

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A strong grasp of teaching and learning principles.

• High proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

• Ability to engage, motivate, and support students effectively.

• A reflective approach with a capacity for creative thinking and innovation.

• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a growth mindset.

• Willingness to participate fully in extracurricular activities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply).

Desirable Qualifications:

• National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).

• National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT).

• A demonstrated track record of improving student outcomes.

• Experience in contributing to or leading curriculum development efforts.
