About This Role

The creation of the high school curriculum involves two interconnected yet separate initiatives: 1. essential preliminary actions toward securing IBDP authorization and a clear outline of the timeline and associated costs for launching the DP in Year 5 (2029-30); 2. Crafting an engaging and attractive Mingwan Pathway to graduation. The Mingwan Pathway, also known as IB+, represents a blended program where selected students will engage in several IBDP courses alongside specialized electives, including opportunities for research and internships. Considering that the Mingwan Pathway may span three years (Grades 10-12), it is crucial to have the program clearly defined and ready to present to parents and students by the midpoint of Grade 9 (Year 2027-28). As a result, it is imperative to finalize the program, obtaining necessary approvals from the Education Committee and the full Governance Committee, by December 2027.

The anticipated workload for the high school curriculum development role is expected to be a 0.8 FTE position, with the remaining 0.2 designated for teaching responsibilities.
