Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator SENCo
About This Role
Hayes Park School is a successful three-form entry, multi-cultural school with a Nursery and a Specialist Resource Provision
(SRP) for autism and an inclusion base for children on pre- or semi-formal curriculum pathways. We are wonderfully resourced,
with a range of IT devices for our pupils, lovely green spaces and an eco-dome.
The school is an inclusive, friendly, caring place of learning in which all students are treated with respect and tolerance and are
prepared for life-long learning. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of mutual support where we learn from each other and achieve
well together. The school encourages the values of Perseverance, Respect, Excellence and Partnership (PREP).
We have a rare opportunity (due to promotion of our current SENCO) for a SENCO to join our team. This role is mainly out of
class, with some cover responsibilities, and includes a TLR1 allowance reflecting the leadership and management
duties involved.
If you are committed to inclusion, driving high-quality provision for pupils with SEN, and working collaboratively with staff
and families, we would love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and coordinating the SEN provision across the school
Supporting teachers in delivering quality first teaching, ordinarily available provision and targeted interventions
Managing the SEN register and EHCP processes
Working closely with families, external agencies and the senior leadership team
Contributing to whole-school improvement priorities, inclusion Therapeutic Thinking
