Frontier School Division invites applications for the following position:

Position: Literacy and Numeracy Support Teacher

Location: Brochet School

Start Date: As soon as possible

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Term of Employment: Until June 30, 2026

Brochet School caters to students from Nursery to Grade 9, with an enrollment of approximately 175 students. Located on the tranquil northeastern shore of Reindeer Lake, Brochet is a delightful community that can be reached via daily flights from Thompson, MB, and winter roads. The town, home to around 600 residents, boasts community amenities including a Northern Store, nursing station, community hall/youth center, baseball diamond, and an outdoor skating rink.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support educational programming
  • Assist in the classroom
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction
  • Conduct assessments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree and a Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification)
  • Knowledge of structured literacy programs and evidence-based teaching methods
  • Understanding of suitable educational programming
  • Experience following an instructional scope and sequence with systematic teaching approaches
  • Ability to design and implement tailored programming for At-Risk students and those with special needs
  • Familiarity with the Confident Learners Program from The Learning Bar
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Solid grounding in formative assessment and data-driven instruction
  • Knowledge of cooperative learning and small group instruction methods
  • Capability to work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues as part of a team

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
