Place Partnership are seeking to appoint an exceptional Lead Teacher of English to join our dedicated English teams across the West Hub. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished classroom teacher with a passion for English to drive outstanding practice, raise achievement and contribute to the strategic development of the English provision across our secondary academies in the West Hub (Wakefield).
The successful candidate will be a reflective, proactive and highly effective teacher who is committed to continually developing their own practice, while supporting colleagues to secure the highest standards of teaching and learning. They will demonstrate both the expertise and ambition to deliver consistently engaging, challenging and inspiring lessons that foster a love of English and enable all pupils to achieve their full potential.
As a dynamic and influential classroom teacher, the post holder will have a proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes for pupils across a range of abilities. They will possess strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach English confidently and effectively across all Key Stages, modelling exceptional practice and contributing to curriculum development within the Trust.
The ideal candidate will be able to evidence a sustained positive impact on pupil progress and achievement through high-quality teaching, effective assessment and a commitment to inclusive practice. About You
The successful candidate will be…
- A qualified teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with a relevant degree in English or a closely related subject.
- An inspirational and highly effective classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising attainment and progress in English.
- An experienced teacher with the ability to lead, develop and support colleagues to deliver outstanding teaching and learning across the department.
- Knowledgeable about current curriculum developments, assessment practices and evidence-informed teaching strategies within English.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external stakeholders.
- Committed to promoting literacy across the curriculum and fostering a culture of reading, writing and academic excellence.
