Position: Kaiako New Entrants / Juniors

Location: Naenae School, Wellington

Employment Type: Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 20/04/2026, End Date: 27/01/2027 (Roll Growth)

Teaching Levels: Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi

Subjects: English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

The Role

Due to roll growth in our Auraki team, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time kaiako in a junior/new entrant classroom. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring teacher with a good sense of humour who is passionate about fostering a nurturing learning environment that reflects the cultural diversity of our kura.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the Te Kura o Te Ngaengae values.
  • Build strong learning partnerships with staff, children, and their whānau.
  • Implement a sound knowledge of the NZ curriculum and structured literacy and mathematics in the junior school.

Qualifications

  • New Zealand registered teacher living in New Zealand.
  • A growth mindset and the passion to support student learning.

What We Offer

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
