Big River First Nation is on the lookout for a student services specialist to enhance the education team for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves supervising the Special Education teaching team and collaborating with both teachers and students.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Deliver academic advising and support to students
· Organize student orientation programs
· Assist with the processes of student enrollment and registration
· Create and execute initiatives aimed at student retention
· Provide counseling and support for personal and academic issues
· Act as a bridge between students and faculty
· Address student concerns and challenges
· Promote learning, growth, and community involvement.
Requirements:
• Strong scheduling skills
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Capacity to teach students with diverse abilities
• Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Cross-Cultural experience is a plus
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Ability to present a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be able to provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
