Se-Se-Wa-Hum School Grade 5 Teacher
Se-Se-Wa-Hum School, situated in Big River First Nation, is in search of a dynamic and enthusiastic Grade 5 Teacher to become part of their team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and execute lesson plans that encompass a diverse range of subjects
• Assess and evaluate students' understanding and performance
• Engage in discussions with students and parents regarding educational matters
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and secure learning atmosphere that promotes education
• Create lesson plans and instructional strategies that align with school standards
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and pinpoint areas needing improvement
• Establish an engaging learning space tailored to meet the needs of each student
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that incorporate various activities such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
• Oversee classroom behavior and manage activities effectively
Requirements:
• Strong scheduling capabilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Effective classroom management abilities
• Capacity to teach a diverse range of student abilities
• Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Cross-cultural experience is a plus
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Ability to present a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
