Mamoura British Academy, which offers a British curriculum, operates as a co-educational institution until Year 8, transitioning to a girls-only setting from Year 9 onwards. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to reach their highest potential.
- Duties include:
- Collaborating effectively with fellow staff members.
- Communicating clearly across various levels.
- Building positive relationships within the school community.
- Working alongside colleagues to create engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards.
- Adapting to a flexible working environment with peers.
- Partnering with parents to support student well-being and academic achievement.
- Collaborating with curriculum support staff (as necessary) to enhance children's growth.
Teaching and Learning:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum.
- Organize classroom resources and displays to create an inviting and stimulating learning environment.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students.
- Engage and inspire students through dynamic and creative teaching methods.
- Observe and evaluate student progress in line with school assessment protocols.
- Reflect on classroom practices, delivered lessons, and student development to adjust the learning environment, planning, and curriculum as needed.
- Collaborate with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
- Ensure the principles of the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA are woven throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data:
- Oversee the academic progress of your class.
- Complete assessment requirements and document student progress using Target Tracker.
- Use assessment data to guide future planning, provisions, and interventions.
- Communicate student progress to parents and guardians during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behavior Management and Duties:
- Follow the school's behavior management policy.
- Effectively manage the classroom using strategies that address students' individual needs, motivating and challenging them.
- Develop positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively in alignment with the school's behavior policy.
- Serve as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the expected attitudes, values, and behaviors.
- Maintain high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.
- Carry out assigned duties in accordance with school policies.
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Engage in a curriculum action group, contributing to planning, assessment, resource management, and special events related to that team.
- Assist in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and activities, which may occur on weekends or evenings.
- Effectively communicate with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and well-being, utilizing school systems.
