About This Role
Strategic Leadership of the School:
•
Develop and define the overarching strategic vision for the school, ensuring it aligns with the strategic objectives and targets of the Group.
•
Create both long-term and short-term development plans that support the school's overall direction and goals.
•
Present the school development plan to the Board for approval.
•
Implement and track the school’s long-term and short-term development plans to guarantee they remain on course.
•
Assess the school’s development requirements and adjust the plan as necessary.
Overall Management of the School:
•
Supervise daily school operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective functioning.
•
Establish and review the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the school, ensuring alignment with the Group's SOP.
•
Maintain a well-resourced and well-kept school environment to foster optimal learning for students and a productive working atmosphere for staff.
•
Optimize the use of school facilities and resources to enhance student learning experiences.
Curriculum Management:
•
Guide the school in curriculum design management, collaborating with the Pedagogy team at Headquarters.
•
Oversee the quality, balance, and relevance of academic, pastoral, and extracurricular activities within the adopted curriculum framework.
•
Ensure the school’s curriculum aligns with other institutions in the EtonHouse Group, facilitating smooth transitions for students.
•
Ensure teaching staff effectively apply the curriculum framework and uphold high pedagogical standards.
•
Support and coach the teaching team in monitoring, assessing, documenting, and maintaining student learning and development evaluations.
•
Guarantee that authentic and relevant evaluations of children's learning and development are documented, accompanied by necessary updates and reports to parents.
•
Ensure confidential storage and maintenance of all student records.
•
Ensure teaching materials and resources are sufficient to support a high-quality learning environment for young children.
•
Monitor and review the quality of teaching provided by staff, ensuring high standards in teaching and learning.
•
Assist with teaching on an ad hoc basis when necessary.
Staff Management:
•
Inspire, lead, and motivate both teaching and non-teaching staff to create a positive, collaborative, and energetic school atmosphere.
•
Coach and mentor the team to help them reach their full potential in performance.
•
Engage in classroom observations, providing timely feedback and coaching to enhance teaching standards.
•
Establish performance and development goals for both teaching and non-teaching staff and assess performance against these goals.
•
Plan professional development opportunities for the school team based on their training needs.
•
Collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner to project staffing needs, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
•
Lead the recruitment and selection process for teaching and non-teaching staff.
•
Mentor and onboard new staff to facilitate a smooth integration into the school culture.
•
Manage staff scheduling, including arranging relief coverage during absences and resources for new programs or classes.
Safeguarding:
•
Guide the school team in all matters related to child safeguarding, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students.
•
Ensure all staff members understand the critical importance of safeguarding students.
•
Develop and periodically review safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence.
Student Management:
•
Engage in the admission process for new students.
•
Ensure student records are meticulously maintained with all necessary documents prior to admission.
•
Oversee class assignments for students, taking into account age, friendship groups, previous placements, learning considerations, and other relevant factors.
•
Ensure compliance with required child-staff ratios in all classes.
Parent Management:
•
Foster and sustain a professional and positive relationship with the parent community.
•
Maintain timely, effective, and regular communication with parents regarding their children's progress.
•
Ensure that both teaching and non-teaching staff cultivate professional and positive relationships with parents, communicating regularly.
Marketing and Enrollment:
•
Create strategies to promote and sustain student enrollment, maximizing school capacity and resource utilization.
•
Work alongside the marketing team to implement strategies aimed at achieving target enrollment numbers.
•
Lead the school’s parent liaison team to establish robust relationships with current and prospective parents.
•
Participate in and lead marketing initiatives and events to enhance the school's brand image and that of the Group.
•
Engage with prospective parents to explain the school’s curriculum and ethos, conducting tours as needed.
Financial Management:
•
Oversee the school’s financial performance to meet financial targets and KPIs.
•
Be accountable for financial management and adherence to the approved budget.
•
Annually set and regularly review the school’s budget to ensure sufficient resources for effective operation.
•
Ensure timely collection of all school fees.
•
Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure accurate management reports are presented to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
•
Manage cost control across all school operations.
Communication with Head Office:
•
Provide regular performance updates on the school to the CEO and Board of Directors.
•
Assist the CEO and Board in any additional responsibilities assigned.
What are we looking for:
•
A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education.
•
Five years of leadership experience in an International School.
•
Eight to ten years of teaching experience in an International School with preschool and primary children.
•
Experience with inquiry-based curriculum is preferred.
•
A leader who prioritizes the child as the most important consideration.
•
A resilient leader capable of navigating ambiguity.
•
A self-motivated individual who can think critically and perform under pressure.
•
A charismatic people leader who can inspire and motivate the team.
•
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
•
International experience, particularly in Asia, is highly regarded.
