ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter’s International School, situated in Palmela near Lisbon, accommodates approximately 1,500 students ranging from 4 months to 18 years on a state-of-the-art 37,000 m² campus. The institution provides a bilingual curriculum (Portuguese/English), Cambridge programs, and the International Baccalaureate, with boarding options available for older students. We are in search of a dedicated and well-qualified Cambridge IGCSE Humanities Teacher to implement the Cambridge IGCSE Humanities curriculum beginning in August for the upcoming academic year. This is a wonderful opportunity for an educator dedicated to motivating students, encouraging critical thinking, and cultivating a passion for Humanities subjects. Experience with the International Baccalaureate (MYP or DP) is also highly relevant and appreciated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Craft and deliver compelling, differentiated Humanities lessons for a diverse student body.


Employ innovative teaching strategies, including inquiry-based learning and digital resources.


Evaluate student progress and offer constructive feedback.


Participate in curriculum development and incorporate technology to enhance learning experiences.


Promote a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere and support student well-being.


Collaborate with peers and engage in school events and extracurricular initiatives.


Commit to ongoing professional development and adhere to safeguarding policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A degree in Humanities, Education, or a related discipline (teaching qualification preferred).


Experience instructing Cambridge IGCSE Humanities subjects (e.g., Geography, History, Global Perspectives) or comparable international curricula.


Relevant IB MYP or DP Humanities experience (highly valued).


A passion for inspiring students and fostering both academic and personal development.


Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.


Experience in an international or multicultural setting (preferred).


Proficiency in English and a commitment to fostering student well-being.

Compensation
