About This Role

Bowerdean and Mapledean Nursery School offers an outstanding, vibrant, and nurturing early years provision to families in the heart of High Wycombe. Our inclusive ethos and strong community partnerships are central to everything we do.

We are a split site Nursery School and are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of School to lead our dedicated team, champion outstanding provision, and drive the continued success at our Mapledean site under the guidance of the Headteacher.

The Role

As Head of School, you will:

Provide inspirational leadership to staff, children, and families

Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and care across the nursery

Lead safeguarding with a commitment to the highest levels of child protection

Work collaboratively with the Headteacher governors, the local authority, and the wider community

Manage staffing and resources efficiently

Promote an inclusive, child centred culture where every child thrives

Drive continuous improvement and maintain a strong strategic vision for early years excellence

Be responsible for planning, with a 0.7 teaching commitment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

A qualified teacher with substantial early years experience

Knowledgeable about EYFS, child development, and early years pedagogy

A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with families and staff

Organised, resilient, and confident in managing operations and compliance

Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and high quality early education

Enthusiastic, compassionate, and innovative in their approach
