We currently have vacancies for Teaching Assistants (TAs) to start immediately, supporting our classrooms with students aged 3 to 11 years old.
As a TA, your role will involve assisting the Teacher in various learning activities:
- Promote and uphold the ethos and standards of excellence according to GEMS Core Values.
- Support the teacher with reading-related tasks.
- Facilitate small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed by the teacher.
- Prepare and organize classroom activities and assist in setting up displays.
- Photocopy materials and assist in preparing worksheets as needed.
- Cover the class briefly during emergency situations.
- Organize and tidy stock cupboards and distribute new supplies.
- Accompany children to the restroom and assist with changing or cleaning as necessary.
- Gain familiarity with relevant curriculum components, including literacy, numeracy, and phonetics.
- Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
- Demonstrate initiative and commitment beyond standard working hours when required.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters, ensuring that information regarding students and the school is not disclosed without approval from the teacher or senior management.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by direct and indirect supervisors.
This position is full-time, operating Monday to Friday (7:15am-2:45pm from Monday to Thursday and 7:15am-11:30am on Friday), and will be term-time only.
