At Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science, our English curriculum ignites a love for language and literature from Primary through A-Level. Our passionate English teachers guide students in refining their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills while fostering creativity and critical thinking. Students progress from foundational literacy to advanced IGCSE and A-Level studies, gaining the confidence to express their thoughts, appreciate diverse perspectives, and engage with literature and communication in ways that prepare them for both academic success and life beyond the classroom.
Senior School
Following the completion of the mandatory Chinese curriculum in Grade 9, Chinese students move into our International Curriculum Centre. Here, they embark on a customized program designed to boost their English proficiency, setting the stage for enrollment in CIE A-level courses during Grades 11 and 12.
In Grade 11, students are placed in English and mathematics classes that align with their proficiency levels. Chinese continues to be a required subject for native speakers. Additionally, students can choose five subjects at the ‘AS level’ from science, humanities, and the arts, before advancing to the study of three to five ‘A2’ subjects, along with English at the appropriate level.
