About This Role
Benenden Bilingual School Guangzhou is seeking qualified candidates for a Teacher of PE for the 2025-2026 academic year. As a Teacher of PE, you will play a vital role in enabling all students to access a balanced curriculum and ensuring high-quality education that promotes improved learning outcomes and achievement. You will oversee all aspects of teaching and learning, collaborating closely with a dedicated and professional team of academic staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning: Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the individual learning needs of students, ensuring their academic progression.
- Effective Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned classes, utilising a diverse range of teaching methods and technology to inspire and engage students.
- Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate and mark student work promptly and accurately, adhering to departmental assessment procedures. Prepare reports as required and set assignments in line with the school requirements.
- Constructive Communication: Provide clear and constructive feedback to students, parents, and caregivers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Additional Support: Offer extra help to students where needed outside of scheduled lessons, facilitating both consolidation of knowledge and extension opportunities. Participate in regular professional development sessions to share best practice.
- Wellbeing Monitoring: Be vigilant about the social-emotional wellbeing of students, monitoring their academic progress and advising them on setting and achieving appropriate targets.
- Safeguarding and Development: Support the safeguarding and promotion of health, safety, and good discipline, contributing to the academic and personal development of students.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and report on the academic progress of your assigned group/class, maintaining open communication with parents.
- Effective Parent Communication: Engage with class parents effectively, providing updates and fostering a collaborative relationship to support student success.
Typical General Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in pedagogy, teacher education or related majors.
- Relevant teaching qualifications and certificates.
- Experience: 3 years or above experience in K12 education.
- Abilities, Skills and Knowledge: Solid educational and teaching knowledge to guide curriculum development and design.
- Good knowledge, expertise and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs.
