Role Summary:
The British School of Bahrain is dedicated to delivering a high-quality international education for students in Bahrain. We are a selective, coeducational, independent school serving children from Nursery to Year 13. Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with local adaptations, and includes IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. While English is the primary language of instruction, our school is genuinely international, with students and staff from over 82 nationalities. With 2,900 students aged 3-18, our school has a welcoming atmosphere, and our students are a delight to teach.
We invite applications for a Teacher of Maths to join our team in January 2025. This position is particularly suitable for a KS3 specialist.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that planning, preparation, assessment, recording, and reporting cater to the diverse learning and social needs of students in line with school requirements, while ensuring comprehensive coverage, progression, and continuity across subjects.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing enrichment opportunities for students beyond the standard curriculum.
- Facilitate and maximize the academic progress and pastoral wellbeing of each assigned student.
- Fulfill clearly defined teaching, pastoral, and administrative roles, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Participation in the broader life of this exceptionally successful British School is expected.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience teaching mathematics at Key Stage 3.
- Experience with Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students is a plus.
- A relevant degree, PGCE, BEd, or equivalent qualification.
- A student-centered approach to education.
- A passion for achieving high learning outcomes and a collaborative spirit.
- A focus on creating a joyful and engaging classroom environment.
- A strong enthusiasm for their subject and continuous pedagogical growth.
- Confidence in utilizing ICT for teaching.
- High expectations and aspirations for all students.
- A demonstrated commitment to the holistic development of young individuals.
- An Enhanced Disclosure/DBS/ACRO Police Check or equivalent, with a dedication to child welfare.
