We are currently looking for a highly qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of IB Psychology to join our team immediately.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Delivery: Teach students the IB DP Psychology syllabus (SL and HL), covering Biological, Cognitive, and Sociocultural approaches, along with specialized topics (e.g., Abnormal or Developmental Psychology).
- Research Supervision: Support students in their Internal Assessment (IA), ensuring they develop robust experimental designs, adhere to ethical standards, and conduct thorough statistical analyses.
- Extended Essay (EE): Act as a supervisor for students undertaking independent research projects in Psychology.
- Assessment & Feedback: Prepare students for external examinations (Papers 1, 2, and 3), using official IB criteria to provide constructive feedback.
- Inclusion & Differentiation: Collaborate with the Inclusion team to adapt the curriculum for diverse learners and implement Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
- Well-being & Prevention: Integrate psychological concepts into school-wide initiatives that promote resilience, mental health, and overall well-being for students.
- Pastoral Care: Work with coordinators and parents to support students’ emotional and academic success within the rigorous DP framework.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff training on child/adolescent development and contribute to the admissions process through pedagogical assessments.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Academic Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology (Essential). A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- IB Expertise: Proven experience in teaching IB DP Psychology or a strong willingness to learn.
