About This Role

We are seeking a passionate, full-time teacher of Classics to join our vibrant and dynamic Classics Department starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting chance to be part of an exceptional team of nine teachers within our senior school and to influence learning in our welcoming and inspiring community. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to teach talented and motivated students across various year groups in the senior school.

For applicants who are new to teaching, training opportunities are available, and our school offers its own teacher training program that leads to QTS.

Person Specification

This position is well-suited for someone who:

- Possesses excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching Latin and Greek.
- Is eager to inspire and support all students to excel and achieve their academic goals.
- Aims to enhance the intellectual experience of students beyond the exam syllabus by encouraging participation in challenges, competitions, and societies related to the classical world.
- Demonstrates strong pastoral instincts and is dedicated to providing outstanding pastoral care and safeguarding for all students.
- Is enthusiastic about contributing to the school’s flourishing co-curricular program.
- Exhibits excellent communication skills.
- Works effectively in collaboration with others.
- Is personally committed to ongoing professional growth.

The following would be beneficial:

- Previous experience teaching Latin and Greek in a secondary school setting.
