Primary/Lower School Class Teacher (Haikou, China)

Inherited from 450 years of educational excellence at Harrow School, UK, Asia International School Limited (AISL) boasts over 20 years of experience in the field, having established international schools in Bangkok (1998), Beijing (2005), Hong Kong (2012), and Shanghai (2016).

Harrow International School (HIS) and Harrow LiDe School Haikou are pivotal projects for the Hainan government as they aim to develop Haikou into a center for international education. Harrow Haikou stands as the first globally recognized educational institution in the province, set to redefine high-quality education throughout the region.

Located strategically in the Jiangdong District, at the north of Jiangdong Avenue and the south side of Linhai Third Road, Harrow Haikou offers K-12 international and bilingual education for both local and foreign day and boarding students. Both schools commenced operations in September 2020.

We are on the lookout for high-performing staff. Successful candidates will be offered renewable two-year contracts, featuring highly competitive employment terms and excellent working conditions.

Application Criteria

Please consider applying for this position if you fulfill the following criteria:

• Relevant degree, along with a UK PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification that grants QTS
• At least two years of teaching experience
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum of England, including IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as applicable
• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to the holistic education of students
• A strong level of professionalism and a focus on the well-being of children
• Recent and active participation in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, age, or ethnic background
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is a second language
• A positive and solution-oriented approach to professional life
• A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check for applicants with no prior work experience in the UK, with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children
