Job Overview

The Secondary School Pedagogist plays a crucial role in implementing and continually improving the EtonHouse pedagogy across its International Schools. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Pedagogy, this position works as part of the Pedagogy Team located in Singapore and engages directly with school leaders and educators to foster exemplary practices in curriculum design, teaching, learning, and assessment. Key responsibilities include mentoring, capacity building, and supporting curriculum innovation and uniformity across all EtonHouse schools worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

A. Pedagogical Leadership and Professional Learning

  • Spearhead curriculum innovation and alignment to cultivate an inquiry-based and student-centered pedagogical framework, utilizing models such as the International Baccalaureate (IBPYP/IBMYP/IBDP), International Curriculum Association (IPC/IMYC), and/or Cambridge International Education.
  • Design and support the practices surrounding the written, taught, and assessed curriculum. Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities and curriculum discussions for school staff in collaboration with school-based Pedagogical Leadership Teams.
  • Organize and lead internal workshops, conferences, and training sessions for both local and international schools (regional travel may be required). Mentor and support Senior Teachers, Curriculum Coordinators, and newly appointed pedagogical leaders. Assist school teams in nurturing a culture of reflective teaching and professional dialogue through modeling, co-teaching, and feedback provision.

B. School Support and Engagement

  • Conduct scheduled school visits to observe teaching and learning dynamics, provide feedback, and collaboratively develop professional development initiatives.
  • Foster positive, respectful, and growth-focused relationships with school principals and curriculum leaders.
  • Collaborate on projects designed to enhance pedagogical alignment, innovation, and instructional excellence within and across schools.
  • Support teaching teams in effectively implementing curriculum frameworks in daily practice with both fidelity and creativity.

C. Curriculum Development and Research

  • Collaborate closely with the school leadership team to assess and analyze data, using insights to continually refine curriculum design and implementation.
  • Contribute to the creation of asynchronous professional learning modules and digital resources to aid teacher development.
  • Engage in action research, literature reviews, and the exploration of international best practices in pedagogy.
  • Assist in developing assessment tools and practices that align with school-wide learning outcomes and educational philosophies.

D. Organisational Projects and Initiatives

  • Lead or participate in organization-wide pedagogical initiatives and strategic projects, including technology and AI-related efforts, as guided by the Group Head of Pedagogy.
  • Involve in curriculum mapping and alignment activities across grade levels and campuses to ensure both horizontal and vertical coherence.
  • Offer pedagogical insights during group-level audits, reviews, and school improvement planning processes.
  • Take on other responsibilities or projects related to pedagogy and organizational growth.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognized Degree in Education or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pedagogical leadership role (e.g., Senior Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Academic Lead).
  • Proven experience in secondary education and familiarity with curriculum frameworks such as (IBPYP/IBMYP/IBDP), International Curriculum Association (IPC/IMYC), and/or Cambridge International Education.
  • Strong understanding of subject-specific teaching and learning.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
