Pastoral Manager and Deputy Safeguarding Lead

Hours:
28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30am till 14.30pm)
Term time only plus 2 training days

An exciting opportunity has arisen at John Ray Junior School for the position of Pastoral Manager and Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

As part of this role, you will be required to liaise effectively with pupils, parents, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), school staff and a range of external agencies. You will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, safeguarding and pastoral needs of our pupils, while working closely with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

The successful applicant will be a committed and dedicated team player with strong administrative, organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open-door approach and be able to provide pupils and staff with an approachable, caring and safe environment where they feel listened to, supported and valued.

You will need to:

  • Work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • Be punctual, dependable, trustworthy and professional at all times.
  • Be proactive, solution-focused and able to respond positively to challenges.
  • Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Demonstrate discretion, tact and a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Remain patient, courteous, calm and positive, even when dealing with challenging or sensitive situations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records and demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Have a genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development of children.

A working knowledge of a school environment would be a distinct advantage, as would previous experience of working with external agencies and professionals.

Compensation

£21,023.01 - £23,220.32 Annually (Actual)
